The Colours of Bornholm – ‘Dark Green Colour Bloc’ – 20 cm x 20 cm Acrylic Wall Tile + Stories

See how the colours of Bornholm come to life with these stunning Acrylic Wall Tiles – a new format for Mandy Stacey – part of her ‘The Colours of Bornholm: Colour Blocs’ PhotoArt Series.

DARK GREEN COLOUR BLOC

With four intense green images that are “bursting with life”, this stylish PhotoArt brings a little bit of Bornholm magic into your home. Capturing the essence of Bornholm’s natural beauty, it is stunning on its own, or you can mix and match it with any of the other 16 coloured tiles. For a natural, earthy look, team the Dark Green Tile with Light Green, Beige and Dark Brown; or go boldly modern with Light Green, Black and Orange. A wall of 16 glittering, jewel-like tiles makes the ultimate colour statement in your home.

Featuring 4 iconic Bornholm images:

“GATE GREEN”: Brightly painted cottages line the road up to the church in Svaneke, the rich green paint contrasting beautifully with the ochre walls, accented in hollyhock pink.
“BEECH WOOD”: Sunlight filtered through beech leaves in the aptly named Paradise Hills – a soft, green glow that feels otherworldly.
“SEAGRASS”: “Best walk on Bornholm?” Hammeren gets my vote – with the bright greens of hardy cliffside plants lining the view down to the deep blue Baltic Sea.
“DEEP GREEN OPAL”: The dark blue-green of Opal Lake in Hammeren is captivating. It draws you in – truly a colour you want to dive into!

This PhotoArt Series ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ celebrates the colours of Bornholm throughout the year, gathered into separate colour palettes and produced as individual Wall Tiles. Each tile is composed of four of Mandy Stacey’s unique ‘Redefining Colour’ images – where the natural world produces a “colour sample” she names as if it were a paint shade. Behind every image is a little story about Bornholm – included as a printed insert.

With 17 different Wall Tiles to choose from, you can experience the beautiful colours and timeless spirit of Bornholm in this new, stylish format. The acrylic material adds rich depth to the colours, the high-gloss finish makes them appear lit from within, and the innovative hidden mount makes each tile “float” on your wall.

The tiles are lightweight and need no additional framing – simply pop them on your wall using the 3M stickers already fixed to the back of the mount. Small and beautiful, like coloured gemstones, they fit anywhere – as a single tile or mixed and matched to suit your own individual taste and home décor.

Product details: Individually made Acrylic Wall Tile with high-quality photo print behind a 3 mm thick glossy acrylic panel with polished edges. Mounted on an 11.5 cm x 11.5 cm hard foam block with four corner 3M peel-off stickers that do not damage your wall. Moisture, scratch and UV resistant.
Size: 20 cm x 20 cm square.
Further information: Simple “How to Mount, Move and Care for your Acrylic Tile” instructions are included.

FACTFILE:

• ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ were developed from Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt Series The Colours of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons, displayed in her gallery The House of Many Colours in Allinge in a 100 cm x 100 cm backlit interactive format, where visitors can select and listen to the stories.
• Mandy Stacey said this about the original exhibition piece, which shares the same colour palettes:

“I fell in love with Bornholm in the summer of 2022. It was easy. The vibrant colours, the breath-taking beauty of nature, the ageless charm of the place. And then I discovered the famous artist Oluf Høst’s paintings of Bornholm, capturing the same scenes in the same bright colours, and it inspired me to create a PhotoArt Series celebrating the colours of Bornholm in all four seasons.”

• Her interest in Oluf Høst was rewarded with an exhibition in The Oluf Høst Museum in 2023, using her PhotoArt to tell the fascinating story of the artist’s son Ole W. Høst, who tragically died in WWII.
• Mandy Stacey is an English artist now living permanently in Allinge, Bornholm with her Danish husband and business partner Curt Stavis.
• She also has a permanent exhibition of The Colours of Bornholm PhotoArt at Bornholm Airport.
