The Colours of Bornholm – 'Red Colour Bloc' – 20 cm x 20 cm Acrylic Wall Tile + Stories

Discover the warmth and vibrancy of Bornholm’s colours in these stunning Acrylic Wall Tiles by Mandy Stacey, part of her acclaimed ‘The Colours of Bornholm: Colour Blocs’ PhotoArt Series.

‘RED COLOUR BLOC’

With four bold and beautiful, predominantly red Bornholm images, this striking PhotoArt piece brings a vivid touch of Bornholm magic into your home. It is vibrant and eye-catching on its own, or you can mix and match it with any of the other 16 coloured tiles. Team it with Orange, Dark Pink and Purple for a burst of hot colour, or make it dark and mysterious with Black or Grey.

Featuring 4 iconic Bornholm images:

“RED VIRGINIA”: Autumn creeper in rich red tones climbs across a traditional yellow house in Gudhjem
“IN PRAISE OF RED”: The famous red church with the octagonal black spire at the top of the town in Svaneke
“RED BOAT”: Caught in a beam of sunset light, the boathouse in Allinge Harbour glows in deep red hues
“VERY BERRY”: The little round white church at Nyker peeks out through a curtain of vibrant autumn berries

The PhotoArt Series ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ celebrates Bornholm’s unique colours across the seasons, gathered into individual colour palettes and created as separate Wall Tiles. Each tile features four of Mandy Stacey’s distinctive ‘Redefining Colour’ images – where the natural world produces a “colour sample” that she names as if it were a shade of paint. Behind every image lies a small Bornholm story – included as a printed insert.

Across the 17 designs in the series, you can explore Bornholm’s beauty and spirit in this contemporary format. The glossy Acrylic surface enhances contrast and depth, while the hidden mount gives each tile a sleek “floating” effect on your wall.

Lightweight and easy to display, the tiles need no additional framing – simply attach them using the 3M stickers already fixed on the back mount. Small and luminous like polished gemstones, they work beautifully anywhere – individually or in a creative mix-and-match combination to suit your personal taste and home décor.

Product details: Individually made Acrylic Wall Tile with high-quality photo print behind a 3 mm glossy Acrylic panel with polished edges. Mounted on an 11.5 cm x 11.5 cm hard foam block with four corner 3M peel-off stickers that do not damage your wall. Moisture, scratch, and UV resistant.

FACTFILE:

• ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ evolved from Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt Series 'The Colours Of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons', displayed in her gallery 'The House Of Many Colours' in Allinge as a 100 cm x 100 cm backlit interactive installation, where visitors can select and listen to the stories.
• Mandy Stacey said this about the original exhibition piece, which shares the same colour palettes:

“I fell in love with Bornholm in the summer of 2022. It was easy. The vibrant colours, the breath-taking beauty of the nature, the ageless charm of the place. And then I discovered the famous artist Oluf Høst’s paintings of Bornholm, capturing the same scenes in the same bright colours, and it inspired me to create a PhotoArt Series celebrating the colours of Bornholm in all four seasons.”

• Her interest in Oluf Høst led to an exhibition at The Oluf Høst Museum in 2023, where she used her PhotoArt to tell the fascinating story of the artist’s son Ole W. Høst, who tragically died in WWII.
• Mandy Stacey is an English artist now living permanently in Allinge, Bornholm with her Danish husband and business partner Curt Stavis.
• She also has a permanent exhibition of 'The Colours of Bornholm' PhotoArt at Bornholm’s Airport.
