The Colours of Bornholm – 'Orange Colour Bloc' – 20 cm x 20 cm Acrylic Wall Tile + Stories

See how the warmth and brilliance of Bornholm’s colours come alive in these striking Acrylic Wall Tiles by Mandy Stacey, part of her celebrated ‘The Colours of Bornholm: Colour Blocs’ PhotoArt Series.

‘ORANGE COLOUR BLOC’

With 4 bold and beautiful orange Bornholm images, this modern PhotoArt piece brings a vivid burst of Bornholm magic into your home. It is vibrant and striking on its own, or you can mix and match it with any of the other 16 coloured tiles. Team it with Red, Pink and Purple for a burst of hot colour, or create interesting contrasts with Dark Blue or Dark Green, picking up on the orangey highlights in those tiles.

Featuring 4 iconic Bornholm images:

“PEACHY GLOW”: Nexø Church silhouetted against a glowing orange-peach evening sky
“FIREBALL”: Bornholm’s sunsets are legendary – none more dramatic than this “fireball descent” at Sømarken
“LAMPLIGHT”: A glimpse of the traditional architecture and warm streetlight glow in Bornholm’s capital, Rønne
“TERRACOTTA”: The unique rooftop view of Bornholm’s much-loved town, Gudhjem

The PhotoArt Series ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ celebrates the island’s changing hues throughout the year, grouping them into distinct colour palettes and producing them as individual Wall Tiles. Each tile includes four of Mandy Stacey’s distinctive ‘Redefining Colour’ images – where nature itself creates a “colour sample” that she names as though it were a paint shade. Behind every image lies a little Bornholm story – included as a printed insert.

Across all 17 designs in the series, you can explore the beauty and spirit of Bornholm in this bright, contemporary format. The glossy Acrylic surface enhances contrast and luminosity, while the hidden mount gives each tile a modern, “floating” effect on your wall.

Lightweight and ready to hang, the tiles need no additional framing – simply attach them using the 3M stickers already in place on the back mount. Small and luminous like polished gemstones, they can fit anywhere – whether displayed individually or as part of a mix-and-match combination to suit your own interior style.

Product details: Individually made Acrylic Wall Tile with high-quality photo print behind a 3 mm glossy Acrylic panel with polished edges. Mounted on an 11.5 cm x 11.5 cm hard foam block with four corner 3M peel-off stickers that will not damage your wall. Moisture, scratch, and UV resistant.
Size: 20 cm x 20 cm square.
Further information: Simple “How to Mount, Move and Care for your Acrylic Tile” instructions are included.

FACTFILE:

• ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ evolved from Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt Series 'The Colours Of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons', displayed in her gallery 'The House Of Many Colours' in Allinge as a 100 cm x 100 cm backlit interactive installation, where visitors can select and listen to the stories.
• Mandy Stacey said this about the original exhibition piece, which shares the same colour palettes:

“I fell in love with Bornholm in the summer of 2022. It was easy. The vibrant colours, the breath-taking beauty of the nature, the ageless charm of the place. And then I discovered the famous artist Oluf Høst’s paintings of Bornholm, capturing the same scenes in the same bright colours, and it inspired me to create a PhotoArt Series celebrating the colours of Bornholm in all four seasons.”

• Her interest in Oluf Høst led to an exhibition at The Oluf Høst Museum in 2023, where she used her PhotoArt to tell the fascinating story of the artist’s son Ole W. Høst, who tragically died in WWII.
• Mandy Stacey is an English artist now living permanently in Allinge, Bornholm with her Danish husband and business partner Curt Stavis.
• She also has a permanent exhibition of 'The Colours of Bornholm' PhotoArt at Bornholm’s Airport.
