The Colours of Bornholm – 'Yellow Colour Bloc' – 20 cm x 20 cm Acrylic Wall Tile + Stories

Bring sunshine into your home with this radiant Acrylic Wall Tile by Mandy Stacey, part of her acclaimed ‘The Colours of Bornholm: Colour Blocs’ PhotoArt Series. Each tile captures the island’s unique blend of colour, light, and spirit.

‘YELLOW COLOUR BLOC’

With 4 glowing, predominantly yellow Bornholm images, this contemporary PhotoArt piece reflects the island’s bright optimism and natural warmth. A splash of cheerful yellow on its own, it can also be mixed and matched with any of the other 16 colour tiles in the series. Combine it with Light Pink and Light Blue for a gentle pastel trio, or contrast it with blue for a bold sunshine-and-sea pairing.

Featuring 4 distinctive Bornholm scenes:

“SOFT YELLOW”: Pink cherry blossom sets off a traditional yellow house in Gudhjem during springtime
“ACID YELLOW”: One of the Hammeren caretakers – a favourite sheep – stands out against the lichen-yellow rocks
“PASTEL YELLOW”: The Danes love their bikes, and Bornholm offers the most beautiful natural backdrop for cycling
“SOLAR FLARE”: A golden summer sunset over Rønne harbour – Bornholm’s skies are a vivid spectacle all year round

The PhotoArt Series ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ celebrates Bornholm’s ever-changing palette through the seasons, transforming the island’s hues into individual colour collections and producing them as separate Wall Tiles. Each piece includes four of Mandy Stacey’s unique ‘Redefining Colour’ images – where nature itself creates a “colour sample” she names as if it were a paint shade. Behind every image lies a little Bornholm story – included as a printed insert.

Across the 17 designs in the series, you can explore Bornholm’s colours and atmosphere in this vibrant, contemporary format. The glossy Acrylic surface enhances brightness and depth, while the hidden mount creates a subtle “floating” effect on your wall.

Lightweight and easy to hang, these tiles need no extra framing – simply attach them using the pre-mounted 3M stickers on the back. Small and luminous, like polished gemstones, they work beautifully on their own or as part of your own mix-and-match colour arrangement to complement your personal style and interior décor.

Product details: Individually made Acrylic Wall Tile with high-quality photo print behind a 3 mm glossy Acrylic panel with polished edges. Mounted on an 11.5 cm x 11.5 cm hard foam block with four corner 3M peel-off stickers that will not damage your wall. Moisture, scratch, and UV resistant.
Size: 20 cm x 20 cm square.
Further information: Simple “How to Mount, Move and Care for your Acrylic Tile” instructions are included.

FACTFILE:

• ‘Bornholm Colour Blocs’ evolved from Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt Series 'The Colours Of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons', displayed in her gallery 'The House Of Many Colours' in Allinge as a 100 cm x 100 cm backlit interactive installation where visitors can select and listen to the stories.
• Mandy Stacey said this about the original exhibition piece, which shares the same colour palettes:

“I fell in love with Bornholm in the summer of 2022. It was easy. The vibrant colours, the breath-taking beauty of the nature, the ageless charm of the place. And then I discovered the famous artist Oluf Høst’s paintings of Bornholm, capturing the same scenes in the same bright colours, and it inspired me to create a PhotoArt Series celebrating the colours of Bornholm in all four seasons.”

• Her interest in Oluf Høst led to an exhibition at The Oluf Høst Museum in 2023, where she used her PhotoArt to tell the fascinating story of the artist’s son Ole W. Høst, who tragically died in WWII.
• Mandy Stacey is an English artist now living permanently in Allinge, Bornholm with her Danish husband and business partner Curt Stavis.
• She also has a permanent exhibition of 'The Colours of Bornholm' PhotoArt at Bornholm’s Airport.
