'Red Still Lifes' is a collection of 4 Glass PhotoArt Wall Tiles (chosen from 5) that celebrate the passion of the colour red. Each tile displays a 'still life' created by Mandy Stacey.

1. 'Too Hot To Handle': Intriguing image of red varnished nails gripping a hot pink tube, with a textured red background.

2. 'Sharp Lips': The pleasing incongruity of a bladed Swiss Army Knife on moulded red lips, with a red floral backdrop.

3. 'Red Glaze': Intriguing red geometric shapes emerge from the shadows and reflections of a red glass mounted on 4 red pictures.

4a. 'Half Woman, Half Butterfly': As a child the artist Mandy Stacey was a butterfly catcher. Butterflies continue to be her magic symbol. After defeating 'The Crowman', who threatened her life with breast cancer, a vision called 'Red Butterfly Rising' came to replace him, as re-created here in her collage.

or 4b. 'The Icing On The Cake': A visually intriguing image: Cake + Rack + Glossy blobs of red icing. In perfect harmony.

The Glass Tiles are each 23 cm sq (arranged as a set of 4 in a square) and appear to float 2 cm away from the wall. The thin, high gloss layer of glass gives a depth of colour and lustre to the hot colours of this PhotoArt.

In exhibition, 'Red Still Lifes' were positioned alongside the London-cool-and-edgy large acrylic 'Urban Gritty'.
