• Mandy Stacey’s central large “hero shot” is called “PINK WORLD” and it was taken from Døndalen beach at the end of a frosty winter’s day. “Very quickly the sky turned pink, then the sea turned pink, and before we knew it, the whole world had turned pink!” said Mandy Stacey, recalling that magical day.  
• 12 individual “Colour Samples” that capture a small slice of Bornholm life in many different shades of pink including the well-known sites of Østerlars Church, Salomon’s Chapel, Hammeren; and Hammershus Castle Ruin in its crumbling red brick.
• And some of the pretty detail that Bornholm has to offer: a traditional half-timbered pink house in Rønne, Runestones in Østerlars, a cherub from Aakirkeby Church, along with heart-breakingly beautiful sunsets and a profusion of flowers in the palest of pastels to the boldest magenta. And, last but not least, the sign outside Gudhjem Is – I bet your favourite is strawberry!   
• Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt process that deconstructs landscapes into Colour Samples “redefining colour” – a slice of real life in all its 3D glory being so much better at representing that colour than a man-made colour chart.
• The little stories about each picture. Sometimes informative, sometimes inspiring, they’ll tell you where they were taken and why. Sent as a print-out with the poster.

FACTFILE:

• The Pink Mini is an edit of Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt Series “The Colours of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons” which is on display in her Gallery “THE HOUSE OF MANY COLOURS” in Allinge.
• It is taken from the Colour Palettes for each season, part of the 12-part Series, where the famous Bornholm artist Oluf Høst (1884-1966) plays an inspirational role in the artworks, with their parallel colour palettes for each season.
• This is what she has to say about the original exhibition artwork:

“I fell in love with Bornholm in the summer of 2022. It was easy. The vibrant colours, the breath-taking beauty of the nature, the ageless charm of the place. And then I discovered the famous artist Oluf Høst’s paintings of Bornholm, capturing the same scenes in the same bright colours, and it inspired me to create a PhotoArt series celebrating the colours of Bornholm in all four seasons.”

• Her interest in Oluf Høst was rewarded with an exhibition in The Oluf Høst Museum in 2023 using her PhotoArt to tell the fascinating story of the artist’s son Ole W. Høst who tragically died in WW2.
• Mandy Stacey is an English artist now living in Sandvig with her Danish husband and business partner Curt Stavis. As well as creating her PhotoArt, they both have a company Bornholm365 to develop business and tourism on the island all year round.
