The Spring Colours of Bornholm – Spring Colour Palette – A1 Poster

All the colours of Bornholm in Spring presented as a colour palette. In a large A1 format, this clean, modern design makes a bold statement.  And behind every little picture is a story…

Immerse yourself in the different elements of the PhotoArt:

  • Mandy Stacey’s 54 individual “Colour Samples” capture a small slice of Bornholm life in the Spring months.
  • The Colour Samples “redefine colour” and are laid out as a colour palette – a slice of real life in all its 3D glory being so much better at representing that colour than a man-made chart.
  • The expressive colour names that give greater insight into the Colour Samples.
  • The little stories about each picture. Sometimes informative, sometimes inspiring, they’ll tell you where they were taken and why. Sent as a print-out with the poster.

The different coloured images all come together in a striking composition, evoking the vibrant colours and happy memories of Bornholm in Spring.

Product details: This fine art poster is printed on good quality paper (220 gsm satin, sustainably sourced)

Size: A1 size (W84.0 cm x H54.9 cm).

Further information: A simple narrow frame is recommended to give it a contemporary look – black, and natural wood look good.

It is also available printed on Acrylic for a high-end, modern look or as a Backlit Acrylic which really brings the colours of the PhotoArt to life and becomes a light feature in your home.

FACTFILE:

  • The Spring Palette is part of Mandy Stacey’s PhotoArt Series “The Colours of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons” which is on display in her Gallery “The House of Many Colours” in Allinge.
  • It forms the first part of her 3-part Spring series, where the famous Bornholm artist Oluf Høst (1884-1966) plays an inspirational role in the artworks, with their parallel colour palettes for each season.
  • This is what she has to say about the original exhibition artwork:

“I fell in love with Bornholm in the summer of 2022. It was easy. The vibrant colours, the breath-taking beauty of the nature, the ageless charm of the place. And then I discovered the famous artist Oluf Høst’s paintings of Bornholm, capturing the same scenes in the same bright colours, and it inspired me to create a PhotoArt series celebrating the colours of Bornholm in all four seasons.”

  • Her interest in Oluf Høst was rewarded with an exhibition in The Oluf Høst Museum in 2023 using her PhotoArt to tell the fascinating story of the artist’s son Ole W. Høst who tragically died in WW2.
  • Mandy Stacey is an English artist now living in Sandvig with her Danish husband and business partner Curt Stavis. As well as creating her PhotoArt, they both have a company Bornholm365 to develop business and tourism on the island all year round.
