New exhibition in Gudhjem Mill, Bornholm by Colour Artist Mandy Stacey

The historic Bornholm windmill, Gudhjem Mølle opened as a tourist attraction on 26 June 2024. With all 6 floors open, visitors could view the workings of the biggest mill in the whole of Denmark, walk around the viewing platform to take in the magnificent view of the terracotta roofs of Gudhjem and the Baltic Sea beyond and experience a new Bornholm PhotoArt Exhibition by English artist Mandy Stacey who now lives permanently on the 'sunshine island'.

Mandy Stacey's 1st Floor Exhibition, "The Colours of Bornholm: In All Four Seasons" is beautifully arranged around the circular interior of the old mill and features colourful, modern PhotoArt of Bornholm, inspired by the famous Bornholm artist Oluf Høst (1884-1966), sharing the same colour palettes for each season. The PhotoArt explores the colours of the seasons using her 'Redefining Colour' process where she deconstructs landscapes into their core colours as 'colour samples' to create palettes of colours which she then uses to make bigger montages and collections. As well as 12 artworks making up the 4 Seasons, there is "Norresan Revisited" her modern take on Oluf Høst's famous painting "A view from the garden of Norresan" and the "Colours of Bornholm: Celebration Palette" a 100 cm x 100 cm backlit capturing the essence of Bornholm in an enormous colour chart. And her 16 colourful Glass Tiles - called "Bornholm Colour Blocs" capture some of the best loved sites of Bornholm in a jewel-like display.

On the ground floor in the Shop/Cafe, the entrance area displays Mandy Stacey's range of Art Posters and Limited Edition Gifts such as Mugs, Calendars and Notebooks. 

The exhibition is showing during the 2024 summer season.
